According to a recent survey carried out by Girlguiding:

  • 47 per cent of schools girls felt that the pressure to look attractive is the most negative part of being female
  • Half would consider having surgery so they could change the way they look
  • and 75 per cent said that they went on strict diets so that they could be attractive to others

We are constantly being presented with air brushed images in the media of the “perfect” man or woman, wash board stomachs, clear skin etc. This has led to an almost epidemic drop in our body confidence levels which in turns can affect so many different areas of our lives leading to low-self esteem, depression, anxiety and eating disorders amongst people of all ages.
